Green Rainbows is a community-led initiative aimed at transforming underutilized urban land in Calgary into vibrant, inclusive community gardens paired with food literacy programming. Led by 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and allies, the program addresses food insecurity and social isolation disproportionately impacting equity-deserving groups, especially 2SLGBTQIA+ and trans youth.

This initiative creates safe, welcoming spaces where participants can grow food, build community, and engage in hands-on learning. Through accessible garden plots and free or low-cost workshops on sustainable gardening, composting, native plants, and water conservation, Green Rainbows promotes environmental stewardship and self-sufficiency.
