The purpose of the project is to deliver a practical, province-wide framework to finance housing-enabling infrastructure for new growth in Alberta.
This would accelerate the delivery of roads, water, wastewater, stormwater, and other essential infrastructure required to bring new communities online. By addressing the primary bottleneck in housing supply, the upfront financing of growth-related infrastructure, the initiative would reduce reliance on high-cost private borrowing, lower risk for municipalities and developers, and shorten the time between land approval and housing delivery.
